Africa Carbon Forum kicks off
For the tenth time the Nairobi Framework Partnership (NFP) brings together experts, practitioners and policy makers from Africa and beyond to discuss and advance the climate action agenda in Africa.
Today sees the beginning of the annual Africa Carbon Forum, this year held in Nairobi, Kenya. The forum focuses on state & non‐State actors' engagement to further strengthen the role of future carbon markets to achieve enhanced climate action, towards achieving the SDGs and the goals in the Paris Agreement.
In addition to the established focus on market-based approaches, this year's forum looks at how the engagement between actors can be further strengthened in three key sectors namely energy, agriculture and human settlements.
From all over the continent and the world more than 1400 experts, policymakers, climate practitioners, ngo representatives and ministers have gathered to explore the opportunities that can come from cooperation and investment in ambitious climate action.
