The climate crisis is threatening our health, food and water security, nature, safety, and socio-economic development. And as the UNEP Emissions Gap Report shows, even though the curve of global emissions is bending, it is not happening quickly enough. To solve the climate crisis, we need all actors on board, including non-state actors. Industry, financial institutions, cities, and regions all have the potential to significantly impact climate action. But how? This webinar builds on the findings and recommendations of two recent UN reports and seeks to facilitate the global discussion on how to strengthen climate action by non-state actors. Moderator: Miriam Hinostroza, Head of the Global Climate Action unit, UNEP Speakers:
  • John Christensen, Director, UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre
  • Katia Simeonova, Independent Consultant
  • Angel Hsu, Associate Professor of Public Policy and Environment, Energy and Ecology, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
  • Ruta Bubniene, Team Leader, Transparency Division, UNFCCC
Closing Remarks: John Christensen, Director, UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre
