Bio

Aristeidis Tsakiris is a Mechanical Engineer with over ten years of experience driving energy efficiency initiatives globally. With an MSc in Sustainable Energy from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), he combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of policy and digital systems to support sustainable development in emerging and developing economies.

At the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre (UNEP-CCC), he leads the development of Monitoring & Evaluation systems, digital dashboards, and web-based Knowledge Management Systems (KMS). His work enhances data-driven decision-making and supports the dissemination of best practices through webinars, podcasts, and e-learning platforms, while also contributing to project development, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Previously, Aristeidis held key roles at the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2), where he managed digital tools, coordinated over 100 webinars, and supported international workshops and publications. His early career in research and consultancy focused on energy-efficient buildings and transport, laying a strong foundation for his current impact in global energy transition efforts.

Bio

Doctor in chemistry, Head of International Affairs at the Sustainable Construction Division (Tecnalia). She is coordinating the Retrofit Work Group of Building Efficiency Accelerator, within SE4All initiative. She has been deeply involved at preparation, management and coordination of European research projects since early 90’. She is leading some European networking initiatives in the field of Construction and Cultural Heritage, and she has been recruited by the European Commission as evaluator of research proposals. She has been deeply involved in construction research for over 20 years, publishing many scientific papers and participating at the Scientific Committee of several International Congresses.

Bio

Manuela is an Associate Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of the Minho University in Portugal. She is the Head of the Sustainable Construction Research Group and she develops her scientific activity in the areas of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development. She coordinates and participates in several national and international research projects in the fields of building thermal performance, nZEB, building conservation and rehabilitation and sustainable construction.

Bio

David Venus was trained in energy and environmental engineering and building technologies with degrees from the University of Applied Sciences, Pinkafeld. Since April 2009 he works at AEE INTEC as project assistant in the department for “Sustainable Buildings”. His current research areas: concept development and -evaluation for plus- and zero-energy buildings, energy performance calculations and dynamic building simulations, consulting and support of municipalities at new and retrofitted building projects.

Bio

Ove has worked with planning and implementation of Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy integration in buildings and environmental issues since 1978. First as a researcher at the Technical University and later at Cenergia Energy Consultants and Kuben Management where he is currently undertaken project leadership of a number of planning and implementation projects nationally and internationally. Ove has a profound knowledge on energy conservation and renewable energy technologies suitable for the built environment and holds a PhD from the DTU.
