Bio

Trupti is an energy engineer with an MSc in Sustainable Energy from the Technical University of Denmark. She specialises in thermal energy systems with a focus on district heating and cooling solutions.

She is passionate about the green transition and wants to contribute to achieving the 2050 energy targets. She has previous experience in developing linear and non-linear mathematical optimisation tools to optimise the dispatch and management of district energy networks. She is currently assisting in projects related to the development of rapid assessment and pre-feasibility tools and e-Trainings for sustainable district energy projects in low-income countries.

Bio

Gabriela Prata Dias is Head of the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre). Previously she was at ADENE, the Portuguese National Energy Agency, where she was the Coordinating Director (CEO) with responsibility for the implementation of energy efficiency policies in Portugal. She has MSc qualifications in Energy and Environmental Economics and Policy, coupled with a very broad and long experience in energy efficiency, including with the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels, in private business and as a researcher.

Bio

Dirk Vansintjan co-founded and is president of REScoop.eu the federation of citizen energy cooperatives in Europe. REScoop.eu is now an associate member of Cooperatives Europe, the European branch of the International Cooperative Alliance. He was involved in founding the Green Party in Flanders and has been a member of the council of the municipality Rotselaar for 12 years. He co-founded the co-housing project in the watermill of Rotselaar (70 kW hydropower) and was active in TSAP, an NGO focused on co-housing, renewable energy and monuments. He is still active in Molenforum Vlaanderen, an umbrella organisation for the preservation of old wind- and watermills and the profession of miller. He co-founded the citizen energy cooperative Ecopower in 1991 that now has 70.000 members and supplies 1.7% of households with green electricity from their installations.

Sara Capuzzo has been president and coordinator of the renewable energy cooperative ènostra since June 2019. She got a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences in 2001 and a Master's degree in Science Communication and Journalism in 2002. From 2005 to 2008, she published articles and reports for the Italian magazine Ambiente Risorse Salute and the online magazine Facciamo tutti la nostra parte of the research centre Centro Studio per l’Uomo e l’Ambiente. In 2005 she became a council member and communications manager at Energo Club Onlus, with duties in communication, press office, writing articles and publications, organizing events, and developing projects on sustainable mobility, environmental education, energy efficiency, and thematic awareness campaigns. In 2014 she assumed the role of vice president and communication manager of ènostra, moving to the role of president in 2019.

Erik Christiansen has been employed at Copenhagen University, in the Ministry of Interior (municipalities and health), in a Mayor’s Office (leader of the department), in a housing association (judicial leader) and at Copenhagen Business School (associated professor). For 27 years Erik Christiansen has been CEO of EBO Consult Ltd. EBO Consult has its core business in the energy sector – district heating, renewable energy (CHP, thermal solar energy, PV/PVT and windmills in and outside Denmark) and energy communities. The company has received numerous awards for good sustainable practices. The company has specialised in cooperative business, e.g., district heating cooperatives/energy communities and manages several of these. Erik Christiansen has been the co-former of NetVarme (NetHeat) in 2016 which is a network with members from several district heating coops and municipal district heating companies. Erik Christiansen is elected as one of 3 Executive Committee members.

Bio

Eduardo Avila is an economist from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, specializing in energy and finance, and has worked in the financial market. While a student at UFRJ, he was president of the Students’ League of Finance and Investments and co-founder of the Energy and Technology League.

A volunteer since 2018, he is now the executive director of Revolusolar, an NGO created in 2015 with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of low-income communities
through solar energy.

Eduardo is a member of the Board Of Advisors of the BRICS CCI Young Leaders and was one of the 5 finalists from Latin America and the Caribbean for the United Nations Environment Program (UN) 'Young Champions of the Earth 2020' global award. Other awards include Global Energy Heroes 2022 (Stanford University), and Shell Youth Initiative 2020 (Energy, Smart Cities and Fighting COVID-19).

Bio

Ana Rita Antunes is an Environmental Engineer from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a master's degree in energy efficiency, at the same University. After 15 years as coordinator of the Energy and Climate Change Group at Quercus, she started working in 2016 at Coopérnico, a cooperative of which she is also a founding member. At Coopérnico, she is the executive coordinator and is responsible for the new service areas. She is also a member of the General Council of ZERO, voluntarily.
