Technology Needs Assessment Project
The Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) is a country-driven initiative designed to help developing nations identify, evaluate, and prioritize climate mitigation and adaptation technologies tailored to their specific country contexts. Through a mature methodology refined over 15 years, the project builds local capacity via workshops, technical backstopping, and stakeholder engagement.
The TNA Project bridges the gap between high-level international climate commitments and actionable, on-the-ground implementation. Recognized under the Paris Agreement, the process supports countries in translating goals set out in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) into clear and achievable implementation pathways. By assessing technology options and identifying the conditions needed for successful adoption, the TNA provides governments with the information and tools required to scale up climate action and strengthen their long-term climate ambitions.
