Dominica

Dominica is a small island developing state that occupies a central position in the eastern Caribbean archipelago. Its western shores face the Caribbean Sea, its eastern shores the North Atlantic Ocean. The agriculture and tourism sectors constitute the mainstay of Dominica's economy.

The threat to coastal habitats posed by sea level rises is substantial, and there is also increasing pressure on forest reserves due to the loss of coastal agricultural lands through salinization. There is also the potential for a greater frequency and intensity of storms in the Caribbean, increasing the risks of landfalls and natural hazards.
