Bio

Begonia Gutierrez Figueroa is no longer employed with the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre or UNEP DTU Partnership since 2023

Begonia joined UNEP DTU Partnership (now UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre) as a Project Associate, in December 2019. She graduated with a MSc. in Environmental and Natural Resources Economics from the University of Copenhagen. Begonia is strongly interested in foreign languages and masters Spanish, French, English, and Danish.

Previously, Begonia has worked in the private sector, both in big corporations and start-ups. Last year, she represented PurCity, a Danish clean-tech start-up, selected for the Global event C40 World Mayors Summit (2019) in Copenhagen. Begonia supported PurCity in its first Pilot implementation in India, working mainly on Funding applications and Business Strategies.

She also has experience in Environmental and Economic Analysis, as well as project management skills gained through her experience in Sweco Denmark, where she was involved in the development of international projects in developing countries, financed by diverse international donors such as the EU and EBRD. Working with projects within the fields of climate change and the environment. While working at Sweco Denmark, Begonia had the opportunity to travel to Kyrgyzstan where she helped in the Economic Analysis section for a Feasibility Study Report, of a Water Supply Improvement project, funded by EBRD.

At UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, Begonia assists with the development of the NDC Action project and the CBIT Platform, as well as working at the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency, where she researches into the best energy efficiency practices of cities and provides support with the creation of webinars, workshops and conferences.

Ángel Guillermo Martín Martínez is National Director for Electricity Generation, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Nacional del Comahue, and a Master’s Degree in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Environment and Energy Economy and Politics from the Universidad Nacional del Comahue. He has been working for more than ten years for the public administration on energy matters and he is currently the National Director for Electricity Generation under the Secretariat of Energy of the Argentine Republic.

Bio

Ivana Audia has more than fifteen years of experience in different positions in the renewable energy and climate change mitigation sector worldwide. With more than ten years of management experience, she is also engaged in environment-related policy issues, such as climate change and sustainable development. Experience in environment, health and safety, engineering, actual on-site project development and management experience including the management of project delivery and impact assessment. Her experience also focuses project finance, energy efficiency and innovation, including all related topics such as transparency, mitigation, accountability as well as finance. Ms. Audia holds a MSc in Mechanical and Energy Engineering, and a MSc in Environment and Development Economics.

She is currently working as Climate Change Technical Advisor at UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP) on climate change mitigation projects in relation to energy, waste management, AFOLU and energy efficiency in developing countries, in particular in the LAC region.

In addition, she is the Project Manager of the annual United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Emissions Gap Report.

Ivana Audia tiene más de quince años de experiencia en diferentes puestos en el sector de las energías renovables y la mitigación del cambio climático a nivel mundial. Con más de diez años de experiencia en gestión, también se dedica a cuestiones de políticas relacionadas con el medio ambiente, como el cambio climático y el desarrollo sostenible. Su experiencia también se centra en la financiación de proyectos, la eficiencia energética y la innovación, incluidos todos los temas relacionados como transparencia y mitigación. Ivana Audia tiene una maestría en ingeniería mecánica y energética y una maestría en economía del medio ambiente y el desarrollo.

Actualmente se desempeña como Asesora Técnica de Cambio Climático en UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP) en proyectos de mitigación del cambio climático en relación con la energía, gestión de residuos, AFOLU y eficiencia energética en países en desarrollo, en particular en la región de LAC.

Bio

Talat Munshi is working as Senior Advisor at UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre. Talat’s work and research are on climate change and cities in developing countries, particularly analyzing the role of urban transport in mitigation and adaptation.

Previously, he has worked at the Faculty of Planning, CEPT University India, at Faculty of ITC, University of Twente Netherlands, at The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), India and with Surat Municipal Corporation, India.

He has experience in research and consulting work with countries in Africa, Asia and Europe on topics related to urban planning, transport and climate transparency and has a significant number of published articles in these areas.

Talat is an engineer by training from CEPT University. He has a PhD from the University of Twente (UT) a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning from CEPT University, and a Master’s degree in Urban Infrastructure Management from the faculty of ITC, UT.
