Smart Energy Solutions for Africa (SESA) is a collaborative project between the European Union and nine African countries (Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa and Tanzania ) that aims at providing energy access technologies and business models that are easily replicable and generate local opportunities for economic development and social cohesion in Africa.

Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions for Low Carbon Island Development Strategy
The objective of this project is to ensure a low carbon economy development pathway for Mauritius by establishing the national capacity for formulating, prioritizing mitigation actions to implement Mauritius’ Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for all mitigation sectors and further develop the local capacity to design and implement mitigation actions relevant for the energy sector.
Piloting waste-to-energy solutions in humanitarian contexts
This project's overarching goal is reducing public health risk and to stabilize household livelihoods in humanitarian crisis by improving delivery of waste management services, access to energy and income generating activities through implementation of innovative waste-to-energy solutions.
In this context, the role of UNEP DTU partnership was to identify appropriate waste-to-energy solutions tailored to the context of three pilot countries affected by large movements of refugees/migrants (Jordan and Turkey) and climate change/disasters (Tokelau in the Pacific Ocean).
