Private Sector Engagement in Climate Change Adaptation

By drawing on evidence-based learning, new empirical cases, as well as existing scholarly work, the project contributes with diverse and original perspectives, insights and reflections on the role and prospects for the private sector to build climate change resilience. The project contributes with:
  • A global stocktake and assessment of work within the field of adaptation and private sector.

Building Business Climate Resilient

Through funding from the Nordic Climate Facility, UNEP DTU Partnership has partnered with Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and MPEnsystems in a project aimed at developing a disaster risk management (DRM) product that will allow Small and Medium size Enterprises (SMEs) in Sri Lanka to reduce their recurring losses from climate related disasters (primarily flooding).

Implementation of Adaptation projects with UN Environment Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF)/Adaptation Fund (AF)

In collaboration with UN Environment’s Division of Environmental Policy Implementation (DEPI), UNEP DTU has provided implementation support to twelve Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and two Adaptation Fund (AF) adaptation projects in Cambodia, Comoros, Djibouti, Gambia, Lesotho, Madagascar, Rwanda and Tanzania, totalling more than $50 million in funding. The projects covered a wide range of adaptation issues, including implementation Ecosystem Based Adaptation, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, Agriculture, and Water Management.

The UNEP Adaptation Gap Report

UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre has managed the production of UNEP’s Adaptation Gap Report series since its first edition in 2014. The aim of the reports is to inform national and international efforts to advance adaptation. From 2020 and onwards, the Adaptation Gap Report consists of two main parts:
  • A first part consisting of a recurrent assessment of global progress on adaptation in three areas: planning, financing and implementation.
